1. three very important things

with PKS volunteering @ the chicago training center, there have been quite a few chats recently in our house about the importance of quality after-school programming. some of the best ones are independent charities which use sports as their anchor…

my brother, an all-american tennis player + nationally ranked paddle player, is on the auxiliary board of METROsquash. their mission?

METROsquash students engage in equal parts squash and academic instruction three days a week after school. In addition, the program provides one-on-one mentoring and weekend activities including squash competitions, community service projects and cultural trips.

what’s not to love in this?

they’re hosting a party may 18th @ zella’s - cocktails, food, raffle, etc. and while, sure, there are a lot of “trips, chads + muffys” on the listserve, if last year was any indication it will be a great soiree for a good cause

    tickets here ($40)
