slim aarons
it could be the color saturation. it might be the scenes of leisure. it’s probably from growing up in lake forest. for whatever reasons, slim aarons’ photography is close to the top on the shortlist of things i love. yet in this day and age of pinterest pollution and image overload, i worry (as in ‘worry about things that truly don’t matter at all’) that we’re bombarded with recycled content - over and over and over again. the repetition bears little value as we’re coached to collect as opposed to absorb. to that end, each time i ‘like’ an aarons image, i’m struck by how very little i know about this alleged favorite. now, i need another book like i need a hole in my head (talk about hypocritical consumption), but if i truly am a fan? it’s time to read up. cue the amazon order:
