things to look forward to…
as i’ve mentioned before ad nauseum, these architecture competitions require a massive push of effort and energy.
(i guess it’s in no way different from any other big project in any other field)
so i always make sure to have a slew of things on the docket post-project - a mix of activities to look forward to along with some substantial rest and relaxation.
… hanging at LGA w/ a hefty stack of favorite magazines and flight back to chicago
… QT w/ my long neglected husband
… a day at the elysian waldorf astoria spa
… a girls’ weekend in denver w/ my best friends and belatedly celebrating my sister’s 30th birthday that i had to miss b/c of work
… working out again (run, spin, swim, ski) and building up my energy cache
… homemade lobster bake on v-day
… presidents’ weekend at the yellowstone club w/ our long distance nyc friends
… neat projects on the horizon
… a birthday (mine) on feb 21. there’s nothing i want. at all. that’s a sign of contentment if i’ve ever seen one.
… spring break at my family’s home in colorado for both realtime and apres ski
… our wedding anniversary. and our paper gifts.
… easter in naples at my grandmother’s w/ the whole family (and the sun)
… organizing our next move. PKS and his summer MBA internship. setting up (temp) house. getting settled. together.
… and who knows what else
two additions (can’t believe i missed these, esp. since they are related!)
… the funniest book club ever meets again in march
… one of my closest college friends happens to be biden’s deputy press secretary - which means she’s officially moving to chicago to be part of the re-election campaign team. big career push for her and (selfishly) another friend in the chi! (and maybe dr. jill biden will join our book club?!)
